Only one candidate in this race has told the voters what he will do if they elect him to be their senator. The other simply assumes you will vote for her because she’s lived in Pella longer.
Senate District 19 comprises 63,700 people across 25 communities and the surrounding 1,339 square miles of rural areas in Jasper, Marion, and Mahaska counties. This isn’t just about one town; it’s about serving them all. I may not have lived in Pella for 45 years, but I have lived in lowa for more than 50, and with 22 years’ experience covering local issues and politics, I have full command of the issues.
I have visited every community in the district, and I have seen firsthand many of the challenges they face that are not being adequately addressed by the General Assembly, particularly the lowa Senate. The leadership there needs a stiff wake-up call and a reminder that they serve you, not the other way around.
I have real-world experience, as well as real-world problem solving expertise, that can address the issues faced by communities like Beacon, Tracy, and Valeria. I also have a background in business and marketing that allows me to comfortably discuss the development issues facing Pella and Newton, as well as Kellogg, Leighton, Pleasantville, and Sully.
Bottom line: a vote for my opponent is a vote for a continuation of what you’re already getting from Des Moines. On the other hand, a vote for me is a vote for REAL CHANGE, perhaps the most Des Moines has seen in decades. Best of all, I’m not going to Des Moines to fight for change all alone. I have many likeminded allies who all are ready to work for the People, not the PACS.
If you wait until November 3rd to make the change, it will be too late. The June 2nd primary is your ONLY CHANCE to enact long-term change. VOTE JUNE 2ND. VOTE FOR THE CHANGE YOU NEED. VOTE LIKE YOUR FREEDOM IS AT STAKE, BECAUSE IT IS.
